Polite present
The standard polite present and future. Built from the ます stem plus ます, ません, ました, etc.

How to form
- 1Change the dictionary form to the ます stem, then add ます.
- 2Godan: change the final う-row kana to the い-row (書く → 書きます).
- 3Ichidan: drop る and add ます (食べる → 食べます).
- 4する → します; 来る → きます.
Cautions
Do not add ます directly to the dictionary form (×書くます).
行く → 行きます (not 行くます).
